Held in Beijing’s Great Hall of the People on the morning of Sep. 5, 2024, the 2024 Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) attracted friends from Africa, who listened to President Xi Jinping, also general secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and chairman of the Central Military Commission, delivering a theme speech. Fortunately, SHANG Chao, a teacher of Bohai University (BU) College of International Exchange, attended the ceremony as a teacher of Chinese language, who was sent to teach Chinese to foreign students by Center for Language Education and Cooperation, Ministry of Education of China. His attendance shows BU’s emphasis on educational exchange and cooperation with African countries.
