On Mar. 5, 2024, Bohai University (BU) launched the Voluntary Activity Ceremony for Learning from Lei Feng in the Music Hall for its students and teachers to learn from Lei Feng, a late Chinese soldier who is remembered for serving the people wholeheartedly and has inspired many generations in China, like good Samaritan in the western countries, to implement the requirement made by President Xi Jinping, also general secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and chairman of the Central Military Commission. At the ceremony, which was attended by some leaders of BU and Jinzhou City departments, LIU Yang, secretary of BU's CPC Committee, made a speech to call on BU's working staff and students to actively participate in the voluntary activity to contribute what they can for the development of BU and China. It was presided over by Wang Huakun, secretary of the Youth League Commission of Bohai University. The theme for the ceremony is "Learning from Lei Feng and Struggling for My Dream."
